Each lesson takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Big idea
People’s choices can affect land, water, air and living things.
Words
- land ground around us
- air gas around Earth
- litter rubbish left outside a bin
- protect help keep from harm
Talk together
- What changed in this scene?
- Who or what might be affected?
- What could people do differently?
Get ready
- Calm before/after pictures, clean reusable paper and bin cards; no real litter handling.
Safety
- A grown-up chooses a safe accessible route and stays close; hold hands near streets. Stay away from traffic, wildlife, unknown plants and standing water; use photos indoors if needed.
- A grown-up stays within reach of water. Use small amounts in shallow unbreakable trays, away from power; wipe spills and wash hands. Do not drink test water.
