Talk together

  • Where does sunlight reach the ground?
  • Which cover blocks it?
  • What part might we build?

Get ready

  • Photos of tree shade, awning and umbrella; card, blocks and toy figure for dry indoor model.

Safety

  • A grown-up stays close. Never look at the Sun; use hats, sunscreen and shade breaks. The adult checks surfaces first; do not touch anything hot.
  • Only a grown-up uses scissors or cuts cardboard. Keep small pieces out of mouths; use large cards.

How to help

Let your child listen, look and try before you explain. Point to the next picture if needed. Accept drawing, pointing or a voice response; writing is optional. Save the child’s own work with a date.
