Talk together

  • What did we keep the same?
  • Which water feels warmer after the wait?
  • What if both feel the same?

Get ready

  • Two unbreakable cups, equal room-temperature water, tray and timer; adult checks sun/shade locations.

Safety

  • A grown-up stays close. Never look at the Sun; use hats, sunscreen and shade breaks. The adult checks surfaces first; do not touch anything hot.
  • A grown-up stays within reach of water. Use small amounts in shallow unbreakable trays, away from power; wipe spills and wash hands. Do not drink test water.

How to help

Let your child listen, look and try before you explain. Point to the next picture if needed. Accept drawing, pointing or a voice response; writing is optional. Save the child’s own work with a date.
